Great rock formations along the Adriatic sea shore on the south side of Hvar island allow rock climbing to dominate. Majority of the routes start only a few meters from the seashore, some begin straight from the sea. Many routes are still being developed off, along the sea. There are a few local climbing areas around, but west part of SUPLJA STINA, alias CLIFFBASE, is major, with more then 120 climbing routes, well bolted, grade from 5a to 8a. |

TO GET PERMISSION FOR ENTRANCE, e mail or call us advance, there is a limited number of climbers allowed to entrance at once. Cliffbase, part of Suplja stina is a private terrain No. 897/3 k.o Svirce. Guests having accomodation order through us are preffered and they have even 30 % discount to entrance ticket. You can be asked to stay out of Cliffbase private terrain if you do not park your car in designated area or if you have no accomodation registration.

Be completely free! Great adventure is The Big Traverse of main, midle part of Suplja stina rock formation, few meters above the sea, about 270 meters of fun climbing, grade up to 5c, end 30m part 8a.

Deepwater Soloing around Cliffbase

Cliffbase is west part of Suplja stina rock formation. Midle part of Suplja stina offer grandious possibilities of DWS. There are about 20 known DWS lines, up to 20m, grade from 5a to 7a. But here, DWS can be much more, play in fantastic rock structure area, full of grips, colors with deep blue beneath. You can even zig-zag, travers or just seabolder few meters above the sea. You can spend hours in this realm

Even if Cliffbase is the best developed area on the south side of island Hvar, walking distance up to 60 minutes offer more little sectors and microareas 1. PAZUHA sektor, 2. MIDDLE CAVE sector, 3. Seabouldering around Cliffbase

Just few meters from Cliffbase is old harbour with excelent seabouledring oportunities. Seabouldering means, in difference from DWS, climbing from sea just in dificultes lines up to to few meters above sea, with a lot of jumps.
